2. Four Is Fine For Middlebury

Hope Shue scored twice in the final six minutes to lift Middlebury to a fourth consecutive NCAA DIII women’s lacrosse championship, defeating NESCAC rival Tufts, 10-9.

The Jumbos (21-2) opened the contest with four unanswered goals in the first 6:17 of the contest. A Kelcey Dion tally gave the Panthers (21-1) their first lead of the game (8-7) with 10:21 remaining. After an Emma Joyce tally tied the scored just 76 seconds later, Shue scored on the power-play just inside six minutes to play and found the back of the net again with 2:07 left for the clincher.

It is the 11th national title for Middlebury.
