MEN’S LACROSSE
1. Bowdoin, Lynchburg, Babson Make Moves In National Polls

The biggest winners in this week’s Division III men’s lacrosse polls are Bowdoin and Lynchburg.
The Hornets jumped six spots from No. 10 to No. 4 after winning at Salisbury, 14-11. The loss enabled Bowdoin to move up one position into the top three after the Polar Bears’ win over Middlebury.
Babson made the week’s biggest move, vaulting 12 spots to No. 8 after its upset of RIT.

Alfred senior Cole Loewke scored eight goals in the Saxons’ win against Morrisville. Saint Joseph’s (Maine) junior Nicolas Michaud also tallied eight times in the Monks’ rout of Elms.
Allegheny’s JP Rakis handed out 10 assists - the third-highest total in DIII this season - as the Gators took it to Lycoming. Rakis also added four goals to give him 14 points on the day.
Moravian junior Nick Coffaro also had a strong game with four goals and seven helpers in a win against USMV.
Alfred State GK Matthew Burris was a busy man last Saturday, turning away 27 shots vs. SUNY Poly. Neumann senior Owen Avelar stopped 26 shots against Kean, while New England College junior Nate Finn and Piedmont senior Mike Eisele made 25 saves against McDaniel and Berry, respectively.
Tip of the cap to Saint Joseph’s junior Zander Kirk for winning 24 of 25 face-offs vs. Elms. Penn College soph Antonio Santora also had a big day in the circle, winning 23 of 26 draws.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
3. No Movement Among Top Five

The opening weekend of NESCAC play did little to shake up the latest Division III women’s lacrosse national polls.
The top five teams from last week remained in place in the USA Lacrosse Magazine ranking with Middlebury retaining the No. 1 position after giving head coach Kate Livesay her 300th win, downing Bowdoin, 11-6.
Stevens dropped four slots to No. 10, while Ithaca joined the top 20 after its thrilling OT win against Cortland.

Lycoming senior Rylie Block had a huge game on Saturday, scoring 10 goals with four assists vs. Wilson. She came back two days later with 14 goals and three helpers in a 20-10 win at Immaculata.
Buffalo State sophomore Bri Struck scored twice and handed out eight assists as the Bengals blanked Geneva.
Delaware Valley soph Abbie Hostetler tallied seven times and assisted on six more as the Aggies downed Notre Dame.
Illinois Tech junior Samantha Gargiulo turned away 22 shots in a 14-5 loss to Hamline.
Maihue Miranda Wiltberger controlled 18 draws in the victory against Cal Lutheran. Teammate Julia Ryan won 16 draws in the triumph vs. Chicago.

“A total lunar eclipse will turn the Moon blood red early tomorrow.
The partial eclipse phase begins at 4:50 a.m. ET, with the Earth's shadow appearing to take a "bite" out of the Moon.
Totality follows starting at 6:04 a.m. ET.
The eclipse will be viewable nationwide. But West Coasters will see more of the show, weather permitting.”
