1. Cortland Hands RPI First Defeat

Cortland opened its season in resounding fashion, handing RPI (3-1) its first loss of the season by a 17-10 count. The Red Dragons broke the match open in the third period, outscoring the Engineers, 6-1. Stefan Swedlund led Cortland with six goals, while Nick Stoecker added 3-4. Charlie Falowski made 18 saves for the victors. Cooper Manzi had a hat trick for RPI, while Tyler Ruffini and Easton Morse each had 1-3.

Christopher Newport (4-0) outscored Washington and Lee (0-2), 7-2, in the second half to overcome an 8-6 deficit and defeat the Generals, 13-10, in Newport News. Jude MacLean, Randolph Campbell, Kevin Miller, and Jamie Smith all tallied fourth-period goals to break open a 9-all deadlock.

Ian Shealey scored 2:17 into overtime to lift Baldwin Wallace past Kenyon, 11-10. Jack Goldbach's go-ahead goal with 12:22 remaining 9, 14-13.

Elizabethtown forced overtime on a goal with :01 remaining and scored 1:20 into the extra stanza to stun Stevenson, 20-19. Brent Wehland beat the buzzer with his sixth goal of the day to tie the match at 19 and Reese Levinson scored the game-winner.

Jason Kozak had 2-2 while Cooper Roberts had a hat trick as Scranton rebounded from an opening-game loss to defeat Muhlenberg, 9-8.

3. Lynchburg Rallies Past St. Mary’s in OT

McKenna Steinau, Lynchburg

Lynchburg (4-0) scored the final five goals of the game, including the overtime game-winner from McKenna Steinau to rally past St. Mary’s (Md.), 9-8. Steinau and Sydney Dumas each scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals with Dumas’ second tally coming with just :34 remaining. Hope Harrison led the Seahawks (0-3) with four goals. | Box Score

Paige Overeem scored with :27 left to tie the game and again with 20 seconds on in OT to lift Bridgewater past Hood, 13-12.

Abigail Fisher scored four goals as Mary Washington outscored Randolph-Macon, 5-0, in the third quarter to down the Yellow Jackets, 8-5.

Emma Youngling, Alyssa Hartnett, and Ava Milia each scored four goals as Muhlenberg overpowered local rival Moravian, 20-5.

Ella Highbarger scored the game-tying and game-winning goals as St. Joseph’s (Maine) edged Plymouth State, 10-9, in overtime.
