1. Gulls Hold Off Cardinals In Top-5 Showdown

Riley Strub, Salisbury
Second-ranked Salisbury outscored No. 4 Wesleyan, 10-3, in the second half to overcome a three-goal deficit at the break and defeat the Cardinals, 16-12.
The visitors held a 9-6 lead at the half, but two goals from Riley Strub just 69 seconds apart knotted the score and Chris Wong’s tally with less than two minutes to go in the period put Salisbury in front to stay.
Strub and Brice Bromwell each recorded four goals and two assists for the Sea Gulls who improved to 6-0. Ryan Della added four goals as well for the victors, while Will Miller tallied four times in a losing cause.

2. Weekend Roundup

Jack Regnery, Tufts
#1 Tufts d. Trinity, 27-9. The Jumbos (2-0) unleashed its potent offense on the Bantams as Jack Regnery scored nine goals to go along with three assists.
#3 RIT d. Ursinus, 20-4. Clifford Gaston tallied five goals while 10 other Tigers (6-0) also scored goals in the rout.
#5 Christopher Newport d. Roanoke, 16-7. The Captains (7-0) remained undefeated with a convincing win over the Maroons (5-2). Jamie Smith led the offense with six goals and Warner Cabaniss became the 16th DIII player with 900 face-off wins.
#6 RPI d. MIT, 17-10. The Engineers outscored the Engineers, 6-1, in the third period as Rensselaer (7-0) got eight points from Easton Morse on its way to the win.
#7 Bowdoin d. #12 Middlebury, 13-7. The Polar Bears broke open an 8-7 game with five fourth-period goals to improve to 3-0. Casey Ryan had 2-2 for Bowdoin.
#8 Stevens d. Oneonta, 18-8. Matthew Pergola, Tommy Robertozzi and Joe Grippo combined for 15 goals for the Ducks (5-0).
#9 Gettysburg d. #11 Washington and Lee, 16-13. The Bullets (3-1) jumped out to a 7-3 lead after one quarter and held off the Generals (2-2). Jackson Barroll tallied four times for Gettysburg.
#10 Amherst d. Hamilton, 9-8. Bennett Chow scored the decisive goal early in the fourth quarter as the Lord Jeffs (2-0) edged the Continentals.
Elsewhere. #19 Stevenson (4-2) got three goals and a pair of assists from Grant Zick in a 16-10 upset of #14 Dickinson (3-2). Jake Rust scored six goals as #18 Lynchburg jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back in defeating #16 Denison, 15-9. Elmhurst moved to 5-0 with a 14-13 win at Oberlin. Surprising Bates is now 4-0 after an 11-10 overtime victory at Williams. See Xander Frey’s game-winner and backflip. Haverford (5-1) handed Susquehanna (5-1) its first loss of the season, 12-11, while Hope (2-4) did the same to Carthage (6-1), 11-9.

3. Battle Scores OT Game-Winner as Gettysburg Downs Salisbury

Grace Battle scored her team’s final three goals, including the game-winner off a feed from Julie Breedveld in overtime as #5 Gettysburg toppled #4 Salisbury, 12-11, next to the Battlefield in Gettysburg.
The Bullets led 11-9 with 3:45 remaining in regulation before the Sea Gulls fought back to tie the game on scores from Carly Hoffman and Grace Doyle.
Gettysburg won the opening draw and ran 85 seconds off the shot clock before Breedveld found a cutting Battle from the left side for the winning tally.

#1 Middlebury d. Bowdoin, 16-3. Hope Shue scored six goals to become the program’s career leader. She has 233 career tallies for the Panthers (3-0).
#2 Franklin & Marshall d. Catholic, 13-5. The Diplomats (4-0) opened up an 8-2 lead at the half and cruised to the win. Sara DiGiovanni made 12 stops in a winning cause.
#3 Tufts d. Trinity, 19-6. The Jumbos (4-0) exploded for 13 first-half goals on its way to a convincing win in Hartford. Ella Lesperance and Ally Zorn each had three goals and two assists.
#20 York d. #6 Washington and Lee, 12-5. The Spartans (3-1) outscored the Generals (5-3), 8-2, in the second half to pull away for the upset road victory. Gianna Huet notched a hat trick, while Bella Garabo made 11 saves.
#7 William Smith d. Cortland, 16-6. GK Maura Smeader set the program’s career win record (60) as the Herons (3-0) rolled over the Red Dragons. She made eight saves for her 60th career win in the cage. Natalie Daniels led the offense with 5-2.
#8 Colby d. Connecticut College, 16-10. The Mules (3-0) outscored the Camels, 12-4, in the first and fourth quarters for the victory. Julia Jardina had a hat trick to go along with an assist.
#8 Colby d. Roger Williams, 11-7. Colby completed the weekend sweep, outscoring the hosts, 6-3 , in the second half. Jardina tallied five goals.
#10 Wesleyan d. #13 Stevens, 13-4. The Cardinals (1-1) opened up a close game with four unanswered second-period goals to down the Ducks (3-2). Four players had multi-goal game, led by Dylan Green’s 3-2.
Elsewhere. Roger Williams upended #14 MIT by a 13-11 count on Friday. The Hawks outscored the Engineers, 6-3, in the final period. Redlands won its fifth game in six tries, downing Moravian, 20-14, as Emily Webster had a six-goal day. Sewanee
(5-0) remained unbeaten with an 18-9 win against George Fox (2-1). Marlin Price tallied seven times for the Tigers. Chicago (4-2) squeezed past Colorado College, 10-9, as Kailee See notched the game-winner in overtime with her first career goal. Lacrosse. Thiel senior M Ashlyn Wightman scored 14 goals in the Tomcats’ 20-9 victory against West Virginia Wesleyan. She reached the 300-goal mark for her career with tally #13.
