1. Harvill Sets NCAA Single-Game Goal Scoring Record

Centenary (La.) attackman Gamble Harvill set a NCAA all-divisions record for goals in a single game as the sophomore scored 14 times in the Gents’ 21-11 victory against Hendrix last Saturday.

Harvill’s total breaks the mark of 13 held previously by four DIII players and one DII athlete.

St. Mary’s (Md.) opened the new year with a 12-7 win at Elizabethtown (0-2). The Seahawks scored four unanswered goals in a 10-minute span of the third period to pull away. Gavin McKay led the victors with 4-1. Wabash outscored Hanover, 7-0, in the second quarter to run away from the Panthers, 14-4, in the season opener for both teams. Evan Bair had 2-2 for the Little Giants who gave new head coach Nate Webber his first victory.

Saint Vincent opened the new year on a high note, scoring 28 goals against Thiel, as Connor Smith led the Bearcats with 6-2. SVC outshot the Tomcats, 74-9. And Pfeiffer improved to 2-0 with a 27-7 win vs. Montreat as Dylan Sullivan had 6-1.

3. Roundup (W)

Sydney Dumas, Lynchburg

Lynchburg outscored Methodist, 9-1, over the middle two periods to roll past the Monarchs, 15-4. Sydney Dumas had 5-1 for the Hornets and became just the eighth player in program history to surpass the 200-point mark in a career.

4. GNAC (M) Preview

“Reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champion Rivier University looks to repeat this season as they were tabbed the favorites in this season’s Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll, as voted by the league’s 13 head coaches. The Raiders led the way with 157 points and seven first-place votes in a competitive spot at the top with last year’s runner-up Lasell University creeping right up at #2 with 155 points and four first-place votes.”

“The Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse team claimed the top spot in the annual preseason coaches' poll by a single point over UMass Boston. The defending Little East Conference (LEC) regular season and tournament champion Wolves totaled 60 points and four first-place votes, while the 2025 regular season and tournament runner-up Beacons tallied 59 points and three first-place votes.

“The 2026 Landmark Conference women’s poll sets up an exciting season, with Scranton tabbed as the preseason favorite after earning 80 points and eight first-place votes. Catholic follows in second with 73 points and two first-place votes, positioning the Cardinals as a strong contender in the early title picture.”

Denison, in pursuit of its third-consecutive and league-leading 25th NCAC title, secured the top spot in the preseason coaches' poll with 64 points and all eight first-place votes. Wooster followed in second with 43 points, while John Carroll and Kenyon tied for third with 41 points apiece.”
