1. St. Lawrence Outlasts Cortland

“Sophomore Patrick Murray played the hero for the No. 11 St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team, scoring with 11 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, as the Saints upset No. 10 Cortland 13-12 in their home opener on Wednesday afternoon at North Country Field.

Jamie Rosenzweig led St. Lawrence with three goals and two assists, while Nathan Coghlin scored his first two collegiate goals.

Rafferty Callahan made 12 saves for the Saints, while Charlie Falowski finished with 14 for the Red Dragons.

Do you recognize some of the teams in DIII men's lacrosse who have a 4-0 record? Haverford is unbeaten in four games after a 17-4 beatdown of Penn College. William Peace matched the Fords, downing Warren Wilson, 11-4. And Bridgewater handed Greensboro (4-1) its first loss of the season, taking a 9-8 decision.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

3. Bullets Down Messiah; Pfeiffer Blanks Randolph to Improve to 5-0

Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the preseason IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game's first four minutes and defeated No. 24 Messiah, 11-7. Julia Daly led the Bullets with three goals and three assists, adding three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Riley Kenrick established a career high with four goals and an assist.

Pfeiffer (5-0) remained perfect on the season with a commanding 16–0 victory over Randolph on Wednesday afternoon. Midfielder Analise Robinson delivered an explosive outing with six goals of her own, scoring in every quarter and generating momentum with three straight first-period strikes.
